🎨 Toyworks Unveils Glow-Stitch Line for Festival Accessories

A hush fell over the Annex this morning as the Toyworks team revealed a new crafting feature for the Christmas in July Festival: Glow-Stitch Thread. Made with safely distilled shimmer beetle dye and a touch of fairy-safe phosphor moss, the thread glows faintly in the dark and will be used in parade sashes, capes, and trim. Master Tailor Len Thornley demonstrated a prototype scarf that lit up in festival green and gold. Production begins tomorrow.

🍬 Peppermint Village: Licorice Lace Braiding Contest Begins

The annual Sweet Weave Showdown is underway, with True Elves in Peppermint Village stringing, braiding, and even weaving licorice laces into wearable art. Favorite Marnie Sweetspool appears to be constructing a fully braided shoulder bag. Judge Tinsel McGinnis warns, “Any structural entries must be edible and wearable. That includes belts, bonnets, and benches.”

🍭 Candy Counter Update from Kathy’s

Blueberry Blizzard Ribbons debuted this morning to a line down Candy Cane Lane. With hand-twisted stripes, a cool mint snap, and a sugared berry finish, they’re already popular with mid-shift toyshop crews. Kathy Clockwright cautions: “Tingling tongues are normal. If you start whistling through your ears, see the Apothecary.”

🌾 Rostlic Prepares for Midsummer Night Stories

Human residents in Rostlic are tidying the lantern rings and moss-stone benches around Lantern Lake for this weekend’s Midsummer Night Storyfire. Mayor Brenna Dal confirmed musical interludes by the Ainslo String Quartet and several elf flutists from Restful Wood. Fire-circle wreath making begins Thursday morning, with a marshmallow toasting practice session in the evening.

🦌 Reindeer in Rhythm: Hoofbell Training Expands

A quiet clatter echoed through the South Meadow today as Rudy Winters and apprentice Trever Fleetfoot introduced hoofbell pacing patterns to the training herd. “It’s not just music—it’s coordination,” said Rudy, who sees rhythm work as a gentle way to keep the younger reindeer sharp between major flights. No word yet on whether a public demonstration will be held, but several elves were seen tapping their toes in time.

🍬 Big Crowd at Kathy’s Candy Shop for Fizzy Watermelon Ribbons
Lines wrapped halfway around the Village Square today as elves of all kinds gathered outside Kathy’s Candy Shop for the return of the seasonal Fizzy Watermelon Ribbons. The tangy-sparkle treats, which fizz on your tongue and tingle your ears, are a summer-only favorite among elves, especially in the lead-up to the Christmas in July Festival.
Shoe Elf Kathy Clockwright herself handed out samples to the early crowd, many of whom arrived before sunrise. “You’d think I was giving away golden gumdrops!” she chuckled. “But no, it’s just watermelon with a kick.”

🎶 Peppermint Village to Host Summer Choir Exchange
A caravan of singers from Snowball Village arrived in Peppermint today for the annual Summer Choir Exchange, which rotates between elven towns each June. This year’s theme: Songs of Sunlight and Snowfall. The combined chorus—led by Maestro Tinsel—will perform Wednesday night at the Starlight Grove, accompanied by glimmer-chimes and flutelings.
Local baker Tilly Tafflebloom is preparing lemonberry scones and frozen maple puffs for the post-concert tea. “You can’t sing about summer without a little sugar in your system!” she declared.

🚜 Rostlic Prepares Float Bases for July Festival Parade
Over in the human town of Rostlic, the float construction yards are bustling with sawdust and song. With just four weeks until the Summer Sleigh Parade, Mayor Brenna Dal toured the grounds today, inspecting the framework for Rostlic’s official float: “Lanterns of Wonder.”
Children from the lakeside school have already started painting paper panels, and local craftsman Gorrell says the float will include moving parts this year. “A little shimmer, a little motion, and a surprise at the top,” he hinted.

🌟 Elf Spotlight: Penny Trueleaf Joins Toyworks Design Committee
Young True Elf Penny Trueleaf has been invited to join the Summer Toyworks Design Committee, an honor usually reserved for senior elves. Penny, who recently became Crumbelle Frosting’s assistant at the bakery, is known for her intricate ribbon toys and twisty candy puzzles.
“She’s got a mind like a whirligig and hands steady as a snowflake,” said Bernard. “Expect good things.”

🌞 Weather Report from the North Pole Observatory

The Toyworks Design Guild officially approved the final float plans for the Summer Sleigh Parade today. Among the highlights: a candy-striped sleigh pulled by four dancing gingerbread golems, a “Flying Gift Box” float that will hover (safely tethered) thanks to Red Fairy Dust, and a surprise musical float titled Harmony in the Sky, led by Penny Tootle and the Candy Cane Clarinet Club. Float construction begins tomorrow morning in the Sleigh Yards.

🍬 New Flavor at Kathy’s Candy Shop: Fizzy Watermelon Ribbons

Kathy Clockwright has unveiled her latest treat: Fizzy Watermelon Ribbons, a tingly taffy that fizzes on your tongue and glows faintly in the dark. Several elves were seen lining up outside the shop this afternoon, with Penny Trueleaf proclaiming, “It’s like a picnic and a firework show in one bite!” Supplies are limited through Tuesday.

🏞️ News from Reindeer Village

Fenrick Redgleam hosted a training showcase for the Sleek Eight hopefuls this morning. Birch and Farskip completed the Figure-8 Flight Drill in record time. Rudy Winters noted that Trever Fleetfoot is already taking notes on sleigh-hitch formations, saying with a chuckle, “The lad’s eager. He’ll be leading warm-ups next week if I’m not careful.”

🕯️ Report from Rostlic

Mayor Brenna Dal welcomed over 80 residents and guests to the Evening of Echoes on the lakeshore. With the sun setting behind the water, townsfolk floated lanterns while softly humming old ballads of kindness and courage. The event closed with a speech from elder stonemason Thom Brindle: “Memories are gifts too — some shine even brighter than new toys.”
