Nestled in a cozy log hall near the banks of the Rootbeer River, the Santa’s Village Harmonica Club is where music and magic meet. Open to elves of all types—True, Shoe, and Messenger—the club has become a cherished part of village life since its founding in 2024, sparked by young Penny Tootle’s spirited playing and Santa’s rediscovery of his old harmonica.

Club meetings are held twice weekly, typically around a roaring hearth under twinkling peppermint lanterns. Sessions begin with warm-up scales (often led by Rudy Winters, who doubles as reindeer wrangler and club co-founder), followed by jam circles, improvisation challenges, and occasional guest performances. Harmonicas of all sizes and tunings are welcomed—from jingle-tuned ten-holers to deep, resonant bass models.

Musical style leans heavily toward festive folk, toe-tapping reels, and wintry blues, though experiments abound. Elf-made instruments—crafted from candy cane reeds and sugar-glass covers—add a signature North Pole flair. Popular tunes include “Reindeer Ragtime,” “The Sleigh Bell Shuffle,” and the club anthem, “Holly Jolly Holler.”

Each July, the club hosts a "Harmonicas & Hearthfires" showcase as part of the Christmas in July Festival, with solos, duets, and massive village-wide singalongs under the Great Fir Tree Stage.

Honorary badges (small harmonica pins carved from pine) are awarded for musical growth, creativity, and community spirit. Rumor has it, Santa himself is preparing a surprise performance for this year’s festival—possibly a harmonica duet with Penny.
